CNDR at the 2024 ABA Dispute Resolution Spring Conference
In April 2024, the American Bar Association hosted the annualÌý in San Diego, California, bringing together practitioners, academics, and other leaders in the field. This y ear’s theme wasÌýMastering the Future: Revolutionizing Dispute Resolution in a Dynamic World.
°Õ³ó±ðÌýCenter for Negotiation and Dispute ResolutionÌý(CNDR) has historically had a strong presence at the conference. CNDR continued its tradition of sponsoring the Legal Educator’s Luncheon, during which we are proud to announce that a UC Law SF alum, Professor John Lande (University of Missouri-Columbia, emeritus), accepted the Section’s Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work in Dispute Resolution.
Three CNDR faculty also spoke at the conference: CNDR Faculty Director Hiro AragakiÌýmoderated a panel on Mediating Across Cultures – How Legal Mediation Changes Outside the US; CNDR DeputyÌýDirector Mattie RobertsonÌýparticipated in a panel entitled, Exploring the Future: The Power of Self-Awareness and Disrupting Bias in Dispute Resolution, andÌýProfessor Clark FreshmanÌýled a session on Overcoming Bias In Detecting Lies in Negotiation: Tech and Mindfulness.
