WHEREAS, pursuant to Education Code Section 92204, the business of the University of California Hastings College of the Law shall be managed by the Hastings Board of Directors (鈥淏oard鈥�); and,

WHEREAS, Hastings By-Law 5.2, provides that vacancies occurring on the Board, except for the heir or representative of S.C. Hastings, shall be filled upon appointment by the Governor, confirmation by a majority of the membership of the Senate, and by majority vote of the Directors; and,

WHEREAS, a vacancy has occurred on the Board; and,

WHEREAS, on June 1, 2018, Governor Brown announced the appointment of Ms. Adrienne Go to the Board, subject to Senate confirmation; and,

WHEREAS, on July 6, 2018, Governor Brown announced the appointment of Mr. Christian Osme艌a to the Board, subject to Senate confirmation; and,

WHEREAS, a majority of the Board has voted to appoint Ms. Adrienne Go and Christian A. Osme帽a to the Hastings Board of Directors.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, Ms. Adrienne Go and Christian A. Osme帽a are hereby appointed to the Hastings Board of Directors.

Adopted September 14, 2018, by majority vote of the Board.

Adrienne Go

Director Adrienne Go, Assoc. General Counsel, Global Product, eBay

Adrienne Go, of San Francisco, has been associate general counsel at eBay Inc. since 2007, where she was senior director from 2005 to 2007. She served as a deputy city attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney鈥檚 Office from 1996 to 2005 and was an associate at Morrison and Foerster LLP from 1988 to 1996. Go earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.

In today鈥檚 world, we need to cultivate and train those who can untangle global political challenges, drive change in our local communities, represent those who seek justice, and disrupt status quo thinking. Christian A. Osme帽a

Director Christian Osme帽a, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Facilities Planning for the California Community Colleges.

Christian A. Osme帽a, of Sacramento, has been vice chancellor for college finance and facilities planning at the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office since 2018. He was a policy fellow in the California Education Policy Fellowship Program from 2016 to 2017. Osme帽a held several positions at the California Department of Finance from 2011 to 2018, including principal program budget analyst, budget analyst and legislative analyst. He served as deputy cabinet secretary in the Office of the Governor from 2010 to 2011, where he was assistant to the chief of staff from 2009 to 2010. Osme帽a earned a Master of Public Administration degree in public administration from the University of Southern California.

“I am excited to continue to work with UC Law SF and support the hard work of its faculty, staff, and students,” says Osme帽a. “As the law department of the University of California, UC Law SF has an important responsibility to define what professional education can look like over the next decade–providing access to those students for whom legal education has been out of reach, remaining sustainable in an uncertain fiscal environment, and responding creatively to the many challenges higher education will continue to face. I look forward to contributing to this big task as best I can.”
